Summit Water New Packaging Lowers Carbon Footprint

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Summit Natural Drinking Water is the official bottled water of Philippine National athletes. It has helped aspiring Filipino athletes maintain superior concentration and athletic edge with minerals that boost their hydration level. It comes from natural underground sources around Mt. Makiling in Laguna and is further processed by ionization and filtration, making it clean and refreshing.

In its continuing effort to inspire Filipinos to thirst for more, Summit Natural Drinking Water has reached for a new goal – to lower its carbon footprint. In a simple but effective packaging change, Summit 500 ml and 350 ml bottles now sport a more streamlined cap that saves almost 500,000 tons of manufactured PET a year.

This is equivalent to the amount of carbon absorbed by 3.7 million trees, or removing over 100,000 cars from the road for one year. The initiative is part of Summit Water’s latest campaign – Thirst for More, by defying limits, stepping out of comfort zones, and going beyond the norm. By being conscious of the environment, Summit Water has upped its game, encouraging Filipinos to do the same.

Animahenasyon 2014: 8th Philippine Animation Festival on November 25 to 28 at iAcademy

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Animahenasyon is an annual animation festival organized by the Animation Council of the Philippines Inc., (ACPI) to serve as a venue for Filipino animators to present their world-class ideas. It is a place for our animation artists to open doors of opportunities and a chance for them to meet and be inspired by the finest names in the animation industry.

Animahenasyon is the Filipino equivalent of animagination, as a result of combining the words “animation” and “imagination” (imahenasyon). It is also about the image (imahe) that we want to portray as a nation (nasyon) of animators to the world. But Animahenasyon is more than just a showcase of what the Filipino animators can do. It is really a harvest (ani) of the Filipino talent and creativity. It is a celebration of the Philippine animation industry.

The festival intends to showcases original content in Philippine animation, to recognize talented Filipino animators, and aim for local and international competitiveness and excellence. It features the works of both aspiring and professional animators in the country through a competition. There will also be an animation symposia and exhibit of the works of animators, plus lifetime achievement awards will be given to deserving individuals.
