Is It Safe to Touch Worms With Your Bare Hands?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

No, that's not my hand, and I haven't tried touching a worm yet.

There are lots of worms in my container garden. Especially under the container pots when I lift to reposition them due to cleaning or taking them out of the rain. Or when I replant a plant to a bigger pot, the soil from the previous pot would have some worms.

One time I found one or two wriggling their way towards a certain direction.

I would pick them up with a barbecue stick, the slimmer sticks and not the ones used for banana cues coz it's harder being thicker, and put them in our biggest recycled plastic container that was formerly used for laundry. Right now only our second amapalya is planted in it.

Are we having worms because of the vermicasts mixed with the garden soil, carbonized rice hulls and coco peat?

According to an article:

"Earthworms and red wriggler worms are perfectly safe to hold bare-handed, though it’s probably prudent to wash your hands before eating your next meal."

However, another article says:

"“Pathogens that we already know can be carried by worms include E. coli O157 and salmonella. These bacteria can cause severe gastrointestinal infections in humans and are commonly found in soil."

What could be beneficial is mostly for the plants. An article says:

"They improve soil structure, water movement, nutrient cycling and plant growth. ... They are not the only indicators of healthy soil systems, but their presence is usually an indicator of a healthy system."

And of course, the vermicasts are their shit that are very good for plants.

Ang Pambansang Oppa YouTuber Emman Nimedez Succumbs to Cancer

Wazzup Pilipinas!

"Pabagalin muna natin ang ikot ng mundo
Ako'y sasayaw sa himig mo, atin ang gabi na 'to
Pahintuin mga kamay ng oras sa relo
Takasan natin ang gulo, lilipad papalayo" - Emman Nimedez, Teka Lang

YouTube content creator Emman Nimedez passed away early Sunday morning after a battle with cancer, his girlfriend confirmed.

"Our beloved Emman Nimedez joined our Creator at 1:00am today, August 16, 2020, Sunday. He was with his family during the time of his passing at St. Luke's Medical Center - Quezon City," Peachy Santos said.

Because mainstream media reported his death, people react...probably even those who don't think and has not watched his videos.

Bigla nga akong napanood ng mga videos niya. Sarili ba niyang mga songs, pati composition at lyrics yun o covers lang? Galing rin sa shots at editing.

Honestly, first time to know about him dahil mainstream media would only highlight celebrity vloggers... 2 million + subscribers na rin siya.

Balita lang talaga pinapanood ko pag TV. Then cable or YouTube kapag movies and entertainment... pero ni minsan di ko napanood si Emman..Is he more on comedy ...which genre?...Yung mga pinanood ko ngayon mga music videos niya..smooth video shots and editing...ganda rin ng audio editing. Not sure if sariling gawa niya or covers....and if collab with others.. May nakita ko marami sila sa isang video...puro mga vlogggers din. Ah, KPop pala Isa sa mga peg niya kaya binansagang siya Ang Pambansang Oppa.

"A woman who lost her husband is called a widow. A man who lost his wife is called a widower. And a kid who lost his parents is called an orphan. But there's no word for a parent who lost their kid..."

Can’t imagine the pain that Daddy Louie is going through

RIP, Emman"

Opening Soon in Binondo: 021 Maker Space Dream Incubator

Wazzup Pilipinas!

This September, 021 Group OPC will soon be opening 021 Maker Space Dream Incubator, a new coworking space and business incubator located on the 8th floor of Co Ban Kiat II building along Juan Luna Street, in the heart of Binondo, the busy commercial district of Manila.

The new coworking space will be the company’s first and largest coworking space in Manila’s Chinatown district.

The Co Ban Kiat II building is one of the historical structures in Binondo. It was built during the Pre-War period and was previously called S.J. The building, in the pre-war era, used to be the headquarters of the Manila Stock Exchange and many other prominent companies and firms, including the Standard and Chartered Bank, the Japanese Consulate General’s office, Bank of America, Sunlife of Canada, Phil Am Life Insurance, France Consulate, Switzerland Consulate, and many others.

"A lot of old structures in Binondo have already been knocked down including the Kawanihan ng Rentas Internas in Escolta. But it's good that the Co Ban Kiat family decided to keep the building which was built during the Deco Art period. With 021 Maker Space being in that building, it's going to be like "Modern meets Historical." - Salome Belir.
