NCRPO chief Debold Sinas on four-day medical leave

PNP spokesperson Police Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac confirmed that NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas is on a four-day medical leave for his "annual medical checkup."

Bathan was appointed as the OIC of the NCRPO from August 20-23, 2020.

Sinas said he was scheduled to undergo an annual medical checkup from August 20 to 22.

While Sinas goes on medical leave, BGen Nolasco Bathan takes over as officer-in-charge.

High ranking government officials who had been involved in several controversies have filed medical leaves for sudden illnesses. The President should urge them to retire instead since they cannot anymore perform their mandated job properly and efficiently due to their ailments. They can be replaced with very able, much better and physically fit officers/officials. Thus PMGen Sinas should file an early retirement to be with his family and loved ones and just enjoy the remaining days of his retirement years. He should always stay positive in every undertakings.

The President is even on perpetual isolation.

Once again, I say, some people can do the world a big favor by being dead than alive.

Seriously, I hope he finds time to reflect and realize that he must lead by example and have the integrity to refuse special treatment.

Howie was DRINKING. Was he supposed to train a spray hose on his face?! How can you allow restaurants to reopen for dine-in and then arrest someone pulling down a mask to drink?

Debold Sinas wants to put up bigger prisons for quarantine violators.

You know what you could do instead, Sinas? Free political prisoners. Free vulnerable prisoners. Free the pregnant, the elderly, the sick.

Maybe then we’d have space for you, and the minions in your mañanita.

Political prisoner Ina Nasino gave birth to an adorable baby girl today at Fabella Hospital. She was a first time mother who came to the hospital without anyone but the jail guards. What a brave mother.

She could not be visited yet because she and her baby might get the virus.

Meanwhile, Police Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas' "mañanita" is already deemed a "closed issue."

While Debold Sinas goes unpunished for a clear offense, people are apprehended for non-existent offenses.

Every day, the police and other authorities are giving us reasons to reject the anti-terror law both in terms of its contents and the people who will (mis)use it.

"PBA party-list Rep. Jericho "Koko" Nograles wants the Chinese manufacturer of hair product Ashley Shine Keratin Treatment blacklisted for listing Manila as a province of China"

“It is hard to dismiss this insult as a simple error. The label clearly shows Manila, as a province of  China,” says Nograles.

But how surprised are people actually that China thinks that Manila is one of their provinces?

Would it be more insulting when the president himself said make the Phillippines be a province of China?

Even our commander-in-chief said that we are already a Province of China so I don’t think they’re gonna ban this.

How did it get FDA approval in the first place? FDA approval is also insulting.

Pero hindi dapat binabalewala yan ganyang bagay. Baka isang araw magkatotoo na yan at wala na tayong magawa.

If you're a Filipino but don't see anything wrong with Manila being called as "a province of China", then please sit the fuck down and do some reflecting.

This is an outright disrespect to our sovereignty, and the country's long history of fighting for independence. I hate how this stupid administration is the number one enabler of this hideous act.

As expected, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque downplays the treasonous act of labelling the hair product with Manila, Province of China. The company distributing the item is a Chinese national.

What? Expect that Malacañang will take action, do something for the people? No way! It’s the mayors who are showing ledership in this country, and nothing from Duterte.

Mayor Isko Moreno just closed down establishments selling products that say the Philippines is a province of China.

Kaso ang hilig natin sa buntot. Bakit hindi kasi puntahan ang root cause. Di ba si Duterte ang nagpapagaan ng atmosphere ng mga Chinese upang mag kaganyan sa bansa natin?

Batanes as your post-pandemic getaway?

Why not?! But minimize tourist visits please so we could keep it just as pristine as it is. From Basco, to Sabtang, then Itbayat, or the other uninhabited islands, you'll surely find beauty among it's land and sea scapes.

Who told you that a place isolated from modernity would be at a disadvantaged?

Batanes is the jewel of the north and the country’s northernmost province remaining undisturbed by the threat of the coronavirus disease.

People of Batanes continue with their normal daily life. It remains to be the only province in the country without Covid-19 infections, according to a data analyst.

The province’s far-flung location played a part in preventing the entry of the virus.

One possible reasons why Batanes remains to be COVID-19 free is their collectivism aside from it’s geographical advantage. It’s one of the places in the country worth visiting once this pandemic ends.

The Batanes provincial government has also set up an organic farm, at the famous Naidi Hills of Basco, to strengthen food sufficiency in the province using a “time-honored farming system of the Ivatan People.”

The farm was launched in 2018 as part of the "Sustainable Food Sufficiency" program in the province and to show new agricultural technologies fitted for its land and climate to Batanes residents.

Imagine doing your passion in the one of the most beautiful place in the country.

Batanes governor Marilou Cayco must be very proud. I would be because there is so much awe-inspiring "picturesque" sceneries here.

Federalism will be good if the leaders are like the LGU of Batanes. Kaso need pa natin linisin ang ibang LGUs like prohibiting political dynasties and removing some redudant elective posts. Or LGUs under mayor Isko of Manila (but not so sure if he is trapo waiting to finally reveal his true self), mayor Vico of Pasig, as well as with other great leaders out there. Ang ganda siguro ng Pilipinas if mga maaayos at karapatdapat na tao yung mga nasa puwesto.

That will probably take a lifetime or two hundred before it happens.

Lockdowns were also implemented early and the LGU monitored the outbreak in China to prevent the virus from entering Batanes.

The provincial government said that early closure and monitoring of its borders are the keys to successfully keep the deadly virus at bay.

Batanes governor says province continues to accept locally stranded individuals: But we strictly implement quarantine, closely monitored by frontliners and men in uniform.

For now Batanes should refrain from receiving tourist. More so- implement strict quarantine & testing of people who are part of the Balik Probinsiya program!

If government listened to our clamor in imposing travel ban early on, we shouldn't be into this mess. We should be living our lives like Batanes. Now we're suffering and will continue to suffer because Duterte's priority is clearly NOT the welfare of Filipino citizens but Chinese feelings.

Batanes is such a majestic place to visit. From it's people, cultures and sceneries. This place is the safest, cleanest and most disciplined. I hope Covid-19 will not conquer this tiny and peaceful island.

For now, let's just admire it from afar. Keep Batanes Covid-free please.

I'll be sure to visit again, but not during peak seasons when tourists are too much.
