Letters That Last: PHLPost Launches National Letter-Writing Competition

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

Some messages disappear in seconds. But a handwritten letter can be kept, reread, and treasured for years.

To celebrate the enduring power of written words, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) invites young writers from across the country to participate in the National Letter-Writing Competition for Young People.

Held annually, the competition encourages children to develop their writing skills while reflecting on meaningful social themes and building a spirit of friendship and understanding with young people around the world through the timeless craft of letter writing.

This year’s theme, “Write a letter to a friend about why human connection matters in a digital world,” invites students to reflect on the importance of genuine relationships in an age dominated by instant messages and social media. Through letter writing, participants are encouraged to express their thoughts with sincerity, creativity, and depth.

The competition is open to students aged 9 to 15 years old, from all public and private schools nationwide. The First Prize winner will receive ₱25,000, and will be the Philippines’ official entry in the international competition organized by the Universal Postal Union in Berne, Switzerland.

Entries must be handwritten in English or Filipino, original, and limited to 800 words. The deadline for submission is on April 10, 2026.

By joining the competition, young Filipinos gain the opportunity not only to be recognized nationally but also to share their voices with the world through a heartfelt letter that celebrates the power of human connection. For the complete mechanics and submission guidelines, please visit:

The Art of the Spilled Secret: BIMPO Returns with High-Stakes Improv in "DIRTIER LITTLE SECRETS"

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

QUEZON CITY, PH — There is a specific, electric kind of tension that exists in the heartbeat before a secret is revealed. It is that delicious, dangerous moment of near-exposure that indie improv group BIMPO aims to capture in their upcoming production, DIRTIER LITTLE SECRETS.

Taking the stage on March 21, 2026, at Teatro Marco in the vibrant Maginhawa Street district, the group is set to transform private confessions into a night of unscripted, collective catharsis.

A Sequel Six Years in the Making

For BIMPO, this show is more than just a performance; it is a significant homecoming. DIRTIER LITTLE SECRETS serves as the spiritual and literal sequel to their 2020 Fringe arts festival hit, Dirty Little Secrets. That original run in Makati concluded just days before the global pandemic shuttered live theaters. Now, six years later, the group returns to the theme that defined their final pre-lockdown moments, leaning into the adrenaline of shared connection.

What Happens in the Dark...

The beauty of a BIMPO show lies in its volatility. The performance relies entirely on anonymous audience suggestions to build its narrative. Attendees won't just be watching a play; they will be witnessing the birth of a one-time-only experience where the line between the stage and the seats completely disappears.

What can the audience expect?

Spontaneous Revelations: Scenes are constructed in real-time from "juicy" and relatable truths submitted by the audience online and at the start of the show.

High-Stakes Comedy: Performers navigate the razor-thin edge of being "caught," finding humor in the most awkward, hidden corners of human experience.

A Fugitive Experience: Because every line is improvised, the secrets shared and the stories told exist only for that specific audience in that specific room.

Event Logistics

If you’re ready to witness the spark that occurs when a truth finally slips out, mark your calendars for this afternoon of high-octane storytelling.

The Digital Silk Road: Converge and Connectbase Forge a New Era of Global Connectivity

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

In a move that fundamentally rewires the digital landscape of Southeast Asia, Connectbase and Converge ICT Solutions Inc. have announced a strategic powerhouse collaboration. This isn't just a business deal; it is the digital equivalent of opening a high-speed trade route between the Philippines and the rest of the world.

By integrating the Philippines’ most advanced pure-fiber and subsea infrastructure into the global Connectbase ecosystem, the two companies are effectively erasing the manual hurdles that have long slowed down international commerce.

Seconds, Not Days: The End of the Manual Era

For years, global carriers looking to source connectivity in the Philippines were trapped in a labyrinth of manual emails and weeks-long sourcing cycles. This collaboration shatters that bottleneck.

Through the Connectbase Seller Cloud, Converge is transitioning its massive network into a digitally consumable asset. What once took days or weeks—discovering serviceability, pricing, and availability—can now be accomplished in seconds.

"Converge has built a world-class fiber network, and Connectbase provides the digital transmission that makes it globally consumable," says Ben Edmond, CEO of Connectbase.

A Subsea and Fiber Juggernaut

The sheer scale of the infrastructure being unleashed is staggering. Converge operates a network that is both young and incredibly vast:

896,000+ Kilometers: An end-to-end pure-fiber network spanning the Philippine archipelago.

60% Coverage: Reaching nearly 60% of all Philippine households.

Global Arteries: Strategic investments in trans-Pacific subsea cables—including Bifrost and SEA-H2X—link the Philippines directly to the U.S., Singapore, and Hong Kong.

This infrastructure is the lifeblood for AI workloads, cloud regionalization, and the massive BPO traffic that defines the modern Philippine economy.

Why This Matters for the Global Market

As Southeast Asia’s digital economy explodes, the demand for "location-precise connectivity" has shifted from a convenience to a critical necessity.

For Global Buyers: Enterprises gain instant access to resilient, low-latency routes essential for modern cloud operations.

For Converge: The company gains immediate visibility among the world's largest network buyers without the need for massive incremental sales overhead.

For the Philippines: This partnership fortifies the nation’s position as a premier digital hub, providing businesses with faster, more resilient connections to the global stage.

Dennis Anthony H. Uy, CEO and Co-Founder of Converge, views this as a definitive milestone: "We are enabling carriers and enterprises worldwide to engage with our network in seconds rather than days".

About the Visionaries

Connectbase acts as the "Operating System for Connected Commerce," providing the location-based intelligence that allows the world to transact across billions of locations.

Converge ICT Solutions Inc. (PSE: CNVRG) stands as the fastest-growing broadband provider in the Philippines, dedicated to delivering world-class digital experiences through its extensive fiber optic assets.
