Fuel-Saving Good Habits from Michelin

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Saving on fuel expense is an important priority nowadays. When you save gas, you don’t just improve your gas mileage and save more money, you also reduce your environmental impact. Thankfully, some clever fuel-saving moves – like reducing vehicle load and properly inflating tires –can really make a difference. Michelin shares some tips with you to help you making your trips safer and wallet-friendlier.

1. Plan your trips well and cut down on them, if you can.

Try to schedule all your errands and tasks in just one big car trip. Starting a car that’s been parked a long time uses a whole lot of fuel for the first eight kilometers or so. Running different unplanned trips a day can cost you bigtime. Think of carpooling too, if you seriously want to save on fuel.

2. Let the traffic ease up before you go.

Getting caught in a traffic jam is a waste of fuel. First gear and second gear driving use up fuel the most. If you have to go out during rush hour, travel steadily at a slow speed and avoid accelerating and braking. Always anticipate what the driver ahead of you is doing.

3. Reduce vehicle weight.

A loaded car burns more fuel. Do not store heavy equipment, tools, and other unnecessary items in your trunk. Extra luggage on top of the roof increases the wind resistance of your car and makes it use up more gas. Remove the roof rack, bull bar and other accessories when not in use.

World Series of Fighting – Global Championship

Wazzup Pilipinas!

World Series of Fighting – Global Championship (WSOF-GC) has announced a heavyweight championship main event for their next event, which also marks their first Global event in Philippines on July 30, 2016. The match up will pit WSOF Global Champion, Russia’s Evgeny Erokhin (14-4), vs WSOF Global #1 Contender, USA’s Richard “The Black Eagle” Odoms (11-2).

Evgeny Erokhin won the inaugural WSOF Global World Heavyweight Championship back on February 7 in Tokyo, Japan, with a first round TKO victory over former Bellator contender, Brandon Cash. Evgeny brings an impressive win streak into the decagon with nine straight wins via knockout, including wins over Brett Rogers, Mike Kyle, Jeff Monson, and Tim Hague.

Richard Odoms made his debut with WSOF Global in Tokyo in February and was on hand to witness Evgeny win his championship. Odoms had a very powerful first round KO stoppage, flattening Japan’s Yusuke Kawaguchi in the first round with a knee to the head. Odoms has won three straight fights, with two of those wins coming by first round KO/TKO.

An interesting fact about each of these warriors is that when they aren’t training, they protect and serve with their respective police forces at home. Evgeny is a police officer in Khabarovsk, Russia; while Richard wears the badge in San Antonio, Texas.

“We have been focusing a lot of our efforts in early 2016 working with our affiliates in nine countries on five continents. We continue to build that program successfully. UGB-MMA in Philippines was our very first affiliate and paved the way for others. It just makes sense that Philippines would be the right market for us to put on our next big event,” lamented WSOF-GC Owner, Dunesa Hesser. “Not only will we be bringing fighters from across the globe to this event, but we will be highlighting some of UGB’s talented fighters as well.”
