Ano nga ba ang Pax Silica?


Ano ang Pax Silica?

Sa simpleng salita, ito ay isang multinational initiative na pinangunahan ng Estados Unidos para bumuo ng mga ligtas at pinagkakatiwalaang supply chain para sa mga teknolohiya ng AI.


Sa halip na umasa lang sa isang bansa pagdating sa semiconductors, rare minerals, advanced manufacturing, at AI infrastructure, nagtutulungan ang mga bansang kasali para magkaroon ng matatag na supply chain sa pagitan ng mga pinagkakatiwalaang katuwang. The Illusion of Abundance

Every single month, nearly 800 million citizens walk away from ration shops carrying subsidized rice and wheat. It stands as a towering testament to state capacity—a massive shield forged during the Covid-19 pandemic and refined over decades that successfully pushed the prevalence of undernourishment down from 21.1% in the mid-2000s to under 10%.


Famine is no longer the immediate specter haunting the streets. But walk into millions of households across the subcontinent, and a sobering truth emerges: survival does not equal strength.


According to the UN’s State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World (SOFI) 2026 report, more than 520 million Indians—over one in every three people—cannot afford a healthy diet. They consume enough calories to power through the day, but fresh fruits, crisp vegetables, wholesome pulses, milk, and protein-rich foods remain agonizingly out of reach.


As neurologist and UN ECOSOC representative Dr. Arun Oommen starkly observes:


"The biggest misconception in India is that people think if their stomach is full, there is no malnutrition. People eat what is cheaply available, but those foods often lack the proteins, vitamins, and minerals needed by the body."
